Ravenna senior outfielder Shaun Dunn was one of five Ravens selected to the first team of the All-Portage Trail Conference Metro Division baseball squad.

It probably comes as little surprise that the 2011 Portage Trail Conference Metro Division champion Ravenna Ravens led the list of accolades when the conference announced its All-Metro Division baseball selections.

Starting with the league’s top honors, Ravenna coach Justin Mulheim and pitcher/infielder Lee Lovejoy were named the Metro Division’s coach and player of the year, respectively.  The Ravens also had more players honored, eight in total counting first team, second team and honorable mention, than any other team in the league.  Kent Roosevelt, Springfield, Crestwood and Field all finished with six players selected as honorees.

First Team

Ravenna – Lee Lovejoy, senior, infielder; Kyle Gillespie, senior, pitcher; Andrew Skilton, senior, first baseman; Brandon Holt, junior, infielder; Shaun Dunn, senior, outfielder.

Kent Roosevelt – Jake Hyre, senior, pitcher; Justin Nelson, senior, infielder; Nick Sacchini, senior, at-large.

Springfield – Kyle Brooks, senior, catcher; David Honeck, senior, outfielder.

Coventry – Stephen Illejevich, senior, outfielder.

Crestwood – David Brock, junior, third baseman.

Southeast – Garrett Barrera, junior, first baseman.
