Representing Summit County at the OHSAA Div. I state track meet in the high jump were: Roosevelt Dotson of Copley (second place) and Aaron Macer of Twinsburg (fifth place).
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Copley Indians made an impressive showing last Saturday at the OHSAA Division I Track & Field State Championship meet.
Copley athletes – senior Roosevelt Dotson and junior Nick Pupino – accumulated 14 points, good for a 13th place tie in the team standings.
Dotson cleared a school record 6-11 in high jump to capture second place. The previous record had been on the books since 1990.
Pupino took third place in the state meet 3,200 meters (9:24.72), after finishing second at the Youngstown-Austintown Regional.
The Indians ended in a tie with Columbus St. Charles and Columbus Beechcroft.
However, a top 20 team finish gave Copley coach John Legrair reason to smile.
