Revere senior catcher Ryan Wonders is one three baseball standouts from the SportsInk.com coverage area named to the All-Ohio first team by the OHSBCA.

 

The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) has selected nine standouts from the SportsInk.com coverage area to its All-Ohio squads.

Named to the first team in Division II are junior left-handed pitcher Michael Marsinek of Walsh Jesuit and senior catcher Ryan Wonders of Revere.

Wonders batted .524 (33-of-63) with a school-record 14 doubles and 17 RBI. A four-year starter, his season slugging average of .832 also is a school mark. Wonders threw out 20 of 33 would-be base stealers.

Garrettsville Garfield senior ace pitcher Brandon Baumgardner is first team in Division III.

Second team selections include: Michael Timm (Twinsburg, Div. I), Tucker Linder (Tallmadge, Div. II), Kerrigan Cain (Archbishop Hoban, Div. II) and Shaun Dunn (Ravenna, Div. II).

As a pitcher, Linder, a junior, was 7-1 with a 0.95 ERA. He also hit .378 with two home runs and 14 RBI.

Two more local players are honorable mention All-Ohio: Mark Zimmerman (Green, Div. I) and Anthony Maurer (Strongsville, Div. I).

As a pitcher, Zimmerman was 5-1 with four saves (1.51 ERA). He also hit .402 with 12 extra base hits.
