Copley first team All-Ohio senior Mackenzie Wallace is back to lead the Indians as they hope to build on last season's appearance in the Division I regionals.
Seven softball standouts from the SportsInk.com coverage area and three stars from state runner-up Elyria have been named All-Ohio by the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.
Two premier area players -- Copley junior pitcher Mackenzie Wallace and Black River sophomore pitcher Dagmar Smith -- were selected first team All-Ohio and will return for 2012.
In Division I, Wallace (20-2) hurled Copley to its first Suburban League and district championships in school history.
In Division III, Smith (18-4) put Black River on the softball map as the Pirates advanced to their district championship game and defeated defending state champion Hillsdale along the way. Smith fanned 245 batters in 131 innings and tossed three perfect games. She also batted .390.
