Garrettsville Garfield senior pitcher Brandon Baumgardner was named PTC County Division player of the year after pitching the G-Men to a division title in 2011.
One year after relinquishing the Portage Trail County Division baseball title, the Garrettsville Garfield G-Men (14-3, 11-1) made their way back to the top of the division. PTC player of the year Brandon Baumgardner and coach of the year Beau Norton led the G-Men back to league prominence.
Baumgardner, a first-team All-Ohioan, was one of five players selected from Garfield to the league’s first unit. The left-hander registered a 6-0 mark. As of May, his suitors included the University of Akron, Malone University, Lake Erie College, University of Mount Union and Shawnee State.
