Wadsworth senior running back Jack Snowball has rushed for over 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns through six games for the undefeated Grizzlies football team.

Wadsworth senior running back Jack Snowball is the SportsInk.com Athlete of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1.

Snowball has rushed for 1,149 yards through the first six games of the season while scoring 15 touchdowns. Snowball is averaging over 9.0 yards per carry for the Grizzlies.

“The best thing I can say about him is he is a true leader and a great teammate,” said Wadsworth coach Greg Dennison.

Snowball, who also plays guard for the Grizzlies basketball team, chooses to lead by example.

“I’m not a big rah-rah guy,” he said.

Snowball missed most of last football season due to a knee injury in Week 1 and a shoulder injury in Week 5. The shoulder actually needed three different procedures before it was ready to go.

The 215-pound tailback now has nine screws in the shoulder, but he stressed that there is no stiffness or lasting effects from the surgeries.

“I thought I might have some difficulty but so far no problems with the shoulder or knee,” he said.

“He sets the bar with his work ethic," Dennison said. "It has been a pleasure having him in our program."
