NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio -- The Manchester boys soccer team got four goals from four players Tuesday in a 4-2 victory over Springfield in a Brunswick Division II sectional opener
Sophomore Kanyon Collins, senior midfielder Kyle Daily, sophomore Matt Eidom and senior Kyle Ferguson all scored for the Panthers, who improved to 12-4-1. Junior goalkeeper Nick Jordan made six saves for Manchester, which outshot Springfield 10-7.
Springfield got a pair of goals from Colton Westover and five saves from freshman keeper Kyle Stevenson.
Manchester plays Thursday at Alliance.
GARRETTSVILLE GARFIELD 1, HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN 0. At Columbiana, freshman Noah Reider scored off an assist from senior Mike Cook to lead the G-Men (7-5-4) to the victory in an Austintown Division III boys soccer sectional first round match.
ROOTSTOWN 6, COLUMBIANA 0. At Rootstown, senior Ronnie Moss scored three goals as the Rovers advanced to the second round in the Austintown Division III bracket.
WATERLOO 8, JACKSON-MILTON 0. At Atwater, senior Ryan Baswell collected two goals and two assists in leading the Vikings to an easy first-round sectional win Tuesday night.
