BOARDMAN DIVISION I REGIONAL
BOYS
Walsh Jesuit dominated the boys race at the Boardman regional, taking three of the top seven places and cruising to the team title. The Warriors were paced by winner senior Tony Howkins, who finished the 5K race at 16:45. Walsh Jesuit teammates senior Matthew Krakora (6th, 17:28) and junior Brian Brennan (7th, 17:29) also finished among the top runners.
Copley senior Nick Pupino finished second with a time of 16:54. Hudson senior Nolan Reilly was fourth at 17:27. Nordonia senior Patrick Osborne placed fifth (17:28.)
The top 16 individual finishers advance to next Saturday’s state meet, as does each member of the top four teams.
Twinsburg sophomore Garret Crichlow (10th, 17:39), Stow-Munroe Falls seniors Nick Hall (11th, 17:40. 74) and Joseph Wisniewski (12th, 17:40.91), Solon sophomore Kevin Blank (13th, 7:42) and Hudson senior Matt Chojnacki (14th, 17:44) rounded out the area runners in the top 16.
Hudson and Solon will join Walsh Jesuit in the state meet as they placed second and third respectively in the team standings. Fifth-place Stow-Munroe Falls just missed the state meet by seven points behind Massillon Jackson.

GIRLS
Nine area runners finished among the top 16 in the girls event.
Solon’s Therese Haiss placed second with a time of 20:01.
Firestone senior Sarah Meek was third at 20:06, followed by Green senior Krista Roehlig (4th, 20:14), Hudson junior Caroline Sauers (5th, 20:22) and Mentor freshman Kinsey Robinson (6th, 20:24). Also finishing among the top 16: Cuyahoga Falls senior Allison Hainer (9th, 20:28), Hudson junior Madison Hartline (10th 20:29), Hudson senior Marissa Sinko (14th, 20:39) and Walsh Jesuit sophomore Melinda Renuart (16th, 20:47.)
Hudson won the team title with 101 points, while second-place Walsh Jesuit (142 points) also advanced to the state meet.

TIFFIN DIVISION I REGIONAL
BOYS
Medina senior Robert Robinson placed fourth with a time of 16:04.
Medina finished second as a team with 121 points. Brunswick also advanced to the state meet, finishing fourth with 154 points. St. Ignatius won the team title.

GIRLS
Wadsworth senior Paige Szabat finished second with a time of 18:21. Medina senior Anna Boyert was third at 18:48.
Other area runners in the top 16 were: Brunswick seniors Loren McDaniel (14th, 19:24) and Alexis Uber (16th, 19:27).
As a team, Brunswick won the region title with 99 points.
