Four All-Ohioans named to Soccer All-America Teams
Four All-Ohio soccer standouts from the SportsInk.com coverage area have been named to their respective NSCAA All-America Teams.

 

KANSAS CITY, MO -- One hundred fifty-eight high school soccer players nationwide have been designated All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Four of the 158 athletes honored by the NSCAA are from the SportsInk.com territory.

The 81-member Girls High School All-America Team includes:

Katie GEORGE, senior defender (Walsh Jesuit)

Sasha HAVERCHAK, senior midfielder (Copley)

George was the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) Division II Player of the Year as Walsh Jesuit allowed just five goals in posting a 19-1-2 record. George was coached by Dino McIntyre.

Haverchak, a first-team Division I All-Ohio selection, had 17 goals and five assists for Suburban League co-champion Copley (9-6-3). Haverchak was coached by Wally Senk.

Strongsville senior forward Ashley Meier is a repeat honoree after leading the Mustangs to a Division I state championship.

The 77-member Boys High School All-America Team includes:

Tanner MANFULL, senior midfielder (Copley)

Colin ROMISHER, senior forward (Revere)

Manfull, a first-team Division I All-Ohioan, accounted for five goals and 10 assists for the Copley Indians (15-3-4) on their way to the OHSAA Division I state semifinals. Manfull was coached by David Antal.

Romisher, the OSSCA Division II Player of the Year, tallied 23 goals and eight assists for the Revere Minutemen (18-1-4), who ranked second in the state for the second straight year, falling in the state final to Dayton Carroll. Romisher was coached by Sandor Jakab.
