TALLMADGE, Ohio – The Tallmadge Blue Devils boys basketball team used a second-half surge to rally from a one-point halftime deficit and defeat Cuyahoga Falls 61-48 on Tuesday night.
The Black Tigers (2-4) led 23-22 at halftime, but Tallmadge (4-4) outscored Cuyahoga Falls 39-25 in the second half to earn the victory.
Junior Anthony Gotto led Tallmadge with 12 points, followed by Jacob Wood, who scored 10. Four Blue Devils (Tucker Linder, Nathan Jackson, Eli Baker and Michael Strand) scored eight points apiece.
Cuyahoga Falls was led by sophomore Josh Ricker’s 13 points. Jacob Slone scored 10 points in the loss for the Black Tigers.
In other games:
MANCHESTER 67, WAYNEDALE 38. At New Franklin, seniors Seth Chappell and Tyler Graves each scored 12 points as the Panthers improved to 3-5.
Manchester led 34-16 at half. Waynedale is 3-4.
MOGADORE 67, HERITAGE CHRISTIAN 49. At Canton, Hunter Van Camp led Mogadore with 19 points, while Austin Pierce scored 14 and Kasey Beard added 13 for the Wildcats (5-2).
GLENOAK 45, STOW-MUNROE FALLS 43. At Stow, Kyle Scelza hit six 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead the Bulldogs in defeat.
The Bulldogs (6-1) absorbed their first loss of the season and still are without 6-foot-5 senior point guard David Walker (wrist).
NORWAYNE 70, BUCKEYE 43. At Creston, the host Bobcats made nine of their 16 third-quarter field goal attempts and cruised to victory after going toe-to-toe with the Bucks in the first two quarters.
Norwayne was ice-cold in the second quarter, hitting only 2-of-14 from the floor, and led 22-20 at halftime.
Nate Davis scored 18 points to lead Norwayne. Bryce Maxwell added 12 points in the victory.

COPLEY 64, JOHN ADAMS (CLEVELAND) 57. At Copley Township, Devon Reif put up 20 points to lead the Indians (4-3).
