AKRON, Ohio -- The Archbishop Hoban boys basketball team was dealt a setback on Saturday when junior guard and leading scorer DeAllen Jackson became injured.
Jackson fractured a bone near his eye and remains at Akron Children's Hospital following surgery to insert a dissolvable plastic piece to repair the area, according to Knights' coach T.K. Griffith.
The accident which resulted in the injury was not fight related and occurred off the basketball floor.
Griffith indicated Jackson will likely miss the rest of the season. Through 11 games, he is averaging 16.4 points per contest on 44 percent shooting from the floor and 70 percent from the foul line. Hoban (8-3) had its five-game win streak halted with a loss at Walsh Jesuit last Friday night.
