Sophomore Alex Obendorf's Division I Sectional diving victory gave Hudson a sweep of the boys and girls competition at Ocasek Natatorium.

 

AKRON, Ohio – Hudson made a sweep of the Akron Division I Sectional diving titles on Thursday evening when sophomore Alex Obendorf (527.30 points) edged Nordonia’s Stephen Romanik (517.40) in an 11-dive competition to claim top prize.

Obendorf's score is a new Hudson school record, surpassing Eric Steiger's mark of 469.15 (11 dives) set in 2010.

On Wednesday, Hudson’s Taryn McLaughlin captured the girls Division I diving title.

Four additional divers from the SportsInk.com-area competed at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium and will be among the top 16 placers advancing to district competition at Cleveland State.

Steve Schillero of Garfield Heights won first place at the Mayfield-Lakewood Division I Sectional contested at Solon High School.
