Jerry Scholle from Highland is the new SportsInk.com Athlete of the Week.

In last Friday's 27-14 upset win over Wadsworth, the Hornets' sophomore quarterback accounted for three touchdowns, throwing two touchdown passes and rushing for 106 yards and one score.

For the season, Jerry has rushed for 428 yards and has nine touchdown tosses against just three interceptions. "He is beyond his years with his attitude. He is a gifted athlete," Highland football coach Tom Lombardo said. "He has a fast twitch about him and now the game is starting to slow down for him."

Jerry is the son of Henry and Wendy Scholle and is an acitve participant in his Church Club and Youth Club programs. Jerry carries a 3.0 GPA and someday would like to take his ability to learn back to the classroom as a teacher.
