Brunswick and Medina teams headed to state meet

TIFFIN -- The Brunswick and Medina girls cross country teams both qualified for the OHSAA state meet at Scioto Downs with their performances Saturday at the Tiffin Regional.

Brunswick finished third behind a strong team effort and Medina placed fourth to grab the last qualifying position behind the seventh-place finish of sophomore Anna Boyert.

Boyert finished the race in 19:01.52 to lead the Bees. Medina's and Brunswick’s average times came in almost identical at 20:01.62 and Medina at 20:01.75.
 
Two Wadsworth Grizzlies also qualified for the state meet. Sophomore Paige Szabat and senior Nicole Cargill placed in the top 16 to earn a trip to Columbus. Szabat placed sixth in 18:59.46 and Cargill 13th in 19:17.99.
