Norton sophomore Alyssa Kraus is the SportsInk.com Athlete of the Week for Dec. 6-12.
This week we honor sophomore point guard Alyssa Kraus from the Norton girls basketball team as our SportsInk.com Athlete of the Week.
“She is doing what I expected from her this season," said Norton coach Brian Miller. "She has the ability to penetrate and is strong enough to elevate and pass or score.”
Alyssa is averaging 20.5 points per game, 6.3 assists per game and is 10-for-22 on three-pointers so far this year. “What has made her a better player this year is the commitment to the defense," Miller said. "I appreciate the work she has put in.”
“I have been playing basketball since I was about 4 years old,” Alyssa said.
Alyssa also runs on the cross country team at Norton.
Alyssa’s parents, Jessica and Marty Kraus, must be proud of their young point guard. “I love hanging out with friends and watching movies,” Alyssa said. She said her favorite movie is "The Hangover."
Alyssa also carries a 3.5 GPA.
“If we keep pushing ourselves, we’ll go far,” she said. As you can read, Alyssa has no plans of putting on the brakes anytime soon.
