NSCAA ALL-AMERICANS

KANSAS CITY, MO -- One hundred fifty-eight high school soccer players nationwide have been designated All-Americans by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Four of the 158 athletes honored by the NSCAA are from the SportsInk.com territory.

The 81-member Girls High School All-America Team includes:

Katie GEORGE, senior defender (Walsh Jesuit)

Sasha HAVERCHAK, senior midfielder (Copley)

George was the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (OSSCA) Division II Player of the Year as Walsh Jesuit allowed just five goals in posting a 19-1-2 record. George was coached by Dino McIntyre.

Haverchak, a first-team Division I All-Ohio selection, had 17 goals and five assists for Suburban League co-champion Copley (9-6-3). Haverchak was coached by Wally Senk.

Strongsville senior forward Ashley Meier is a repeat honoree after leading the Mustangs to a Division I state championship.

The Barberton Magics are glad to have junior Christlin Cline back in their lineup. An outfielder, Cline is recovering from a rare heart valve disorder. Barberton topped Revere 4-3 on Sunday at Firestone Stadium.
