Boys basketball beat

The OHSAA Tournament has been whittled down to 32 boys basketball teams in each of its four divisions.

This weekend, those remaining clubs will battle for spots in the state’s Sweet 16.

Four district championship games, in particular, are of interest to the SportsInk.com coverage area -- and all will be played on Saturday night.

CANTON FIELDHOUSE DIVISION II DISTRICT

Buchtel (22-0 / No. 1 seed) vs. St. Vincent-St. Mary (15-6 / No. 2 seed)

Breakdown: The undefeated Griffins and Fighting Irish will finally decide which team is Akron’s best this winter. Buchtel finished its spectacular regular season atop the Associated Press state poll, while St. V-M was largely disrespected by the voters and finished 10th.
