Super seven squads

SHARON CENTER – There are 32 teams still running in girls cross country Divisions I and II. Nearly a quarter of them are from the Summit/Medina County area. Four teams from Division I and three teams from Division II will trek to Columbus for the state meet.

In Division I, Medina and Brunswick made it out of the Tiffin regional, finishing third and fourth respectively. Hudson and Green finished second and third in the Youngstown regional to make it to the state meet.
 
Joining the four teams are five individual qualifiers. Stow’s Katie Betts won the Youngstown regional to make it to Columbus. Cuyahoga Falls duo of Kayleigh Scourfield and Allison Hainer also qualified out of the Youngstown Regional. The final two individual qualifiers came out of the Tiffin regional. Wadsworth teammates Paige Szabat and Nicole Cargill both qualified for the season’s final race.
 
The Division I girls state championship race is set for 12:35 PM.
