HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN
By BRIAN DULIK

BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- Selena Pasadyn, who recently helped Brunswick's girls cross country team to the OHSAA Division I state championship, is the female winner of the 2011 Wendy's High School Heisman.

The senior standout received her award over the weekend in New York City, where she was joined by male winner Garrett Gosse of Las Vegas (NV) Meadows at a Times Square ceremony. Both athletes received a $500 Wendy's gift certificate, Heisman patch, and a replica trophy, while their respective schools will be given $10,000 in their names.

ESPN2 will broadcast the entire event on tape delay Saturday at 2 p.m., featuring clips of all 12 national finalists. More than 48,000 student-athletes from across the United States applied for the honor.

Pasadyn and Gosse were already featured on ESPN's presentation of the Heisman Trophy awards show, where both spent time with Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III as he was given college football's highest honor.
