The biggest match

SHARON CENTER -- It is the match Northeast Ohio high school soccer fans have anticipated all season.

The two premier Division I girls teams in the region -- Walsh Jesuit (18-0-2) and Medina (19-1-2) meet tonight in an OHSAA state semifinal at Rocky River High School at 7 p.m.

They played Oct. 7, during the regular season, at Medina Memorial Stadium and the result was predictably a 1-1 tie. The Bees haven't given up a goal since that match.

"We know a lot about them, and they know a lot about us," Medina coach Doug Coreno said. "It's going to be a great game. The girls know each other from playing together and against each other on the club scene and obviously we play them every year in the regular season. We've had two great matches with them over the last two years. So, we're excited. To get to the state finals, you want to play the best."

There are many constrasts when previewing the two teams.
